Alpha science class: The steps of making colorful snowflake

Step one:

You should add half the water in a clear plastic cup, then add a few drops of edible pigment that you choose one to the water and mix the edible pigment well with a stirring spoon.

Step two:

You should put two spoons of snow powder in the mixing bowl, then pour the water of the plastic cup water in it, stirring with spoon to make the Snow powder can absorbed the water, if  water is not enough, you can also add a little water in the mixing bowl, the Snow powder will absorb more water and becomes a lot.

Step three:

You can choose different colors of pigment and repeat steps 1 and 2. Then you can get different colorful snowflakes

Step four:

You can use these different color of snowflakes to make your favorite shapes like snow mountains or snowmen.

Why is there a lot of snow powder when absorbing water? Alpha science toys  tells kids that snow powder is sodium polyacrylate (gel polymer), which is also known as water lock.
